Re: [science-iwg] SBIR funding opportunity

Hi Eric,

Thanks for your participation in the group, sorry I have not replied until now but I was on holiday aka vacation.

In terms of Control System Studio, Diamond Light Source is spending resources in looking at using it to replace our EPICS EDM screens. The team here is not actually actively part of the science working group yet (but I am working on it). They have done (significant) developments with Control System Studio, if you like I could hook you up with them or you could visit Diamond and talk to the team directly?

In terms of JavaFX we are actively looking at its capabilities with student projects. There are no plans to replace the working draw2D user interfaces of Control System Studio with JavaFX in the short term. I talked to Xuihui Chen (active committer on CSS I suppose you know him already) from the nebula project which has some of the widgets in use in CSS, a couple of years ago and he was interested then in using JavaFX more.

At least of the mentioned nobody seems to meet that requirement.
