Re: [science-iwg] Eclipse Board Member Elections 2015

Werner, Philip and everyone,

Thank you very much for the kind remarks! :-)

I apologize for the slow response. This is a busy week. Let me take a moment to campaign a bit. I hope everyone on this list will vote for me, but at the very least you should all vote, if possible, regardless of whether or not you vote for me. There are some amazing candidates out there for both positions and I'm excited about the Foundation's future.

As far as for why you specifically should vote for me, I think it is simple: you know I'll work for you AND with you. I would like to think that _together_ we have done a lot here with our working group. If you elect me as your committer representative, we will do even more _together_ with the board. I can't cite number of commits or anything like that; we all know I'm a new committer. But... I can promise you that I will represent you, if elected, to the best of my ability.

All the Best,
Jay Jay

Guess it could help in the board elections that Jay is (also) in the steering committee here.
Depending on what arguments people use for their vote. I recall Ed Merks last time pointed to his number of commits;-)

Cheers,

Werner

Hi,

Just saw the reminder for Eclipse Board Member Elections.
And that with Jay Jay Billings someone from the Science WG is also a
candidate.
I gave him the highest ranking and wish him all the Best for the elections.

Regards,

Werner

Hello,

We are planning to move:
DawnScience/dawn-eclipse

To:
eclipse/dawnsci

on Github tomorrow afternoon.

*       If you have any changes to the dawn-eclipse repo please merge them to master.
*       The repo DawnScience/dawn-eclipse will be kept as read only from tomorrow afternoon, in case history is needed.
*       Old branches will be left as is, master will be checked into eclipse/dawnsci
*       If you would like to commit in future to the plugins on eclipse github, you will need to join the foundation and register as a committer. You can then commit with your existing github id. If you work at Diamond, then Diamond has signed the necessary agreement for you with Eclipse. 'Diamond Light Source Ltd.' should appear in the drop down list of their web page when registering.
*       You will need to run Buckminster query again to switch repos in your DAWN build, tonight's build will be from the old location, tomorrow's from the new.

Any other questions or observations to make this better would be appreciated before tomorrow pm :). Please email me directly.

Sincerely,

Matt Gerring
