Re: [science-iwg] London event in late September

Hi,

That's a bit of an overlap with several major events.
JavaOne/OOW takes place between Sep 28 and Oct 2, many JUGs or JCP Members are there at least around the 24th, so 90% or more of those active in LJC (London Java Community) expect them to be on a "pilgrimage" to Silicon Valley, not staying in London;-)

Maybe just Ian or few people involved in IoT might be at the "Smart Week" in France, now in Marsaille. I am relieved Jean-Marie and I have not heard from them (spoke about Trusted Java 2 years ago) as it is so close to JavaOne duties, I could only manage to speak at both with a very tight schedule.

I'll spread the word to Martin, JSR 363 expert and GeoAPI lead, maybe he'd be interested to join that tour or he's even there already.

Hi Everyone,

As per below, there may be interest in doing an event in the London area
in late September (see the LocationTech tour
<http://tour.locationtech.org/2014/> for other cities). Would anyone
here in the Science group be interested in joining forces with
LocationTech for that? It would be easy to work together and promote the
Science group and have fun while doing it.

Andrew

How about bringing the Location Tech Tour 2014 to London?

There is an AGI Big Data event on 30th September
http://www.geobig5.com/events/big-data/ which we could dovetail with or
we could go for late October around the time of the Hamburg event (23rd)

Anyone fancy helping?
