yes that’s it, it’s more a usability feature for the user as it avoids him to use openssl to convert the key to use (which can be convenient in cloud environment).

can we get a +1 anyway :-) ?

FWIW, there's nothing necessarily wrong with that, we just need to keep track of it.

among all features 3.5 aims to decode PKCS1 private keys which are not encrypted, i.e they are just encoded in a different format than what Java supports.
