my name is Paweł Nowak and I'm participating in the Google Summer of Code 2015. I'm an ICT student, working on the project News Feed for/in Eclipse.
Project short description: News feed aggregator which presents news in the IDE. It will allow projects to inform its users (and only it's users) about new releases, security issues and other stuff. The purpose is to provide better communication and feedback between projects and its users.
Basic RSS parser based on Mylyn or Platform code
UI to present news as notifications
Extension point to add RSS feeds
UI / Preference Page to enable, disable RSS feeds.
- Integration of the Eclipse foundation news feeds

What have to be done: Test whole project and fix bugs.
What will (possibly) be done:
Small enhancements (UI tweaks etc)
- Potentially include ROME
UI to manually add/ remove feeds
- View/editor that lists the contents of an/all RSS feeds and allows quick navigation.

What has been done last two weeks: It's actually listed above in the 'What is already done' section.
What will be done in the next week: Resolve Bug 466821, test PollFeedJob and possibly RssService.
