Re: [recommenders-dev] RC1 - testing, new models, and experimental JRE support

Ok, got it.

FYI, GSoC will start at May 21, it means that i have to start new feature development job according to proposal time schedule very soon

I spoke with our lawyer (Sharon) about this - she indicated that she was hoping to get to it last week. So hopefully it will happen very soon.

I also asked Marcel about expediting it - he said there was nothing he could do.

Sorry Chen, I'm not certain that there's anything more I can do. I guess we just have to wait for this (and keep working on other things while we wait).

Hi Doug,

It seems that we should do some thing to push IP check things for snipmatch. Or we can not finish code base merge job before Juno release's deadline :-(

Hey,

Eclipse RC1 just went out of the door tonight and the release date for Juno is approaching fast :) After RC1 there will be 3 more RCs, one per week. After RC4 (+0 is scheduled for 08.06.2012) we enter the quiet phase in which no more changes can be made. Every bug that pops up thereafter can be fixed in SR1 earliest. So, I'd like to ask you giving the latest developer builds a spin and report any issues your may have (bugs, performance, UI). Hope we can fix as many as possible until Juno RC4.

While code freeze is early, we have time to improve on the mined models until the final release. I've enabled preliminary support for java runtime libraries in the latest developer builds. The models have been generated from Juno M6 release train repository. To fetch the latest models please make sure you are using http://vandyk.st.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de/models/juno/ as repository url (reset to defaults should work), and delete your $workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.recommenders* folders to wipe out any cached data (guess we should have an update button in the preferences page somewhere...)

Any comments on these models is greatly appreciated. But please keep in mind that the data used to generate models for JRE is pretty small and that the standard library is a quite generic API that follows much more different usages as a framework API typically does. Thus the recommendations may not be as precise as you may expect. Anyways, if something feels wrong, report it to bugzilla - it might be a bug.

Thanks,
Marcel
