To my very great sadness, I don't have time to work on the python client in any meaningful way. I'd be very happy to have someone join the team to help out. If you'd like to do that, perhaps the best idea for me at least is to use the mailing list to communicate about which issues/PRs you want addressing, then it's easier to keep track of the bits that you specifically are working on, and it provides an additional record of contribution, which is useful for becoming a full committer on the project, which I hope you'd want to do.
