We would be another one. The one you are referring to is about creating composite repositories.
Thx

Is this the same bug as this one : https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=208601
Or do you prefer I file a new one about mirror merging not working?

Cheers.

It should but this is likely a bug.

[p2-dev] Re: Merge repositories

I realize I've not been clear about what I've tried.

Using the mirrorApp to mirror a repository to some new local directory will work very well.

In the contrary, if the local directory is already existing and was created by a previous mirroring of another repo, then the mirrorApp won't merge locally. It will first trash everything in the target directory, then begin to download the new required repository.

So the question is simple: is p2 mirrorApp able to merge repositories?
If not, then OK, if you want I'll even take care of updating the wiki if I'm allowed to have an account.
At least, just let me know if this should have worked or not.

    Thanks a lot.
    Cheers.

        Hi all,

First, please excuse me if it's not the right to post such message. I crawled the web and didn't find any "p2 users" oriente list or forum. Just let me know where I should go if necessary.

Anyway, I've been playing with p2 for some days now.
Particularly, at the moment I'm trying to use the p2 mirroring tool.

        According to the wiki
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Equinox_p2_Repository_Mirroring, by default p2 mirroring will merge repositories.
I tested this, but I wasn't able to make this work. As it's written that by default, p2 will append artifacts, I just tried to mirror two different update site to the same destination dir, but no luck.

If merging repo is possible with p2, could someone please give me some hints or pointers to help me achieve this?

        Thanks in advance.
        Cheers.
