[nebula-dev] "Extra" column in Grid ?

The snippets for Grid show an "extra" column.
That is, the intended columns use space on the left hand side,
and the remaining space on the right hand side is unused.

To users this appears to be an "extra" column.
How can the intended columns be constructed to use all of the available 
space ?
