[mdmbl-dev] Discussion: Using an Adapter design for MDM API

Hello openMDM community,

I would like to propose a possible design pattern of MDM API which was used in a ATFX geometry prototype I recently created for the openMDM WG by order of Daimler. A similar design was used also for MDM API in openMDM 4 to access data from an ODS server in the components vw.augi.mdm.odscache, vwg.audi.mdm.api and vwg.audi.mdm.api.ods.

It is different from other proposals which use POJOs. Instead it relies mainly on dependency injections to forward issued queries to access data from the API to the servers. A dependency configuration of adapters can be induced from component configuration of an openMDM application, as well.

More informations can be found in documents attached to Ticket ORGA-61. A source code of the ATFX prototype is available by request.

Best Regards,
