Below are the notes from the last Kura meeting. Feel free to join the discussion.

 

• Review of P1 backlog issues targeting Kura 3.0
• Discussion on the MQTT JSON format
  • Kapua/Kura joint proposal on a "strongly typed" JSON format equivalent to the KuraPayload protobuf. Announce the design document on the Kura/Kapua ML
  • Jens: add the simple JSON format. It will work for publishing to AWS or Azure and for simple demos. It will not work with Kapua
  • Marko suggested an alternative "strongly typed" {"type": ..., "value":...} JSON format but there is no need for it right now (and incidentally it's the one already on Kura develop branch that we want to amend)
• In the future, new payload encoders/decoders should be pluggable
• Known issue: re-add x86_64 native libs for OSX
• P1 Issue: delete Wires' types that do not map to the KuraPayload supported types
• @Dave submit IP log for Kura 3.0
• Jens: Fedora QA?
• PC-Engines APU QA. Contact distrib maintainer
• 3.0 release branch due in one week
