If no answer helps, try the following:

Can you start it in the console and press CTRL-Break on a Windows-system
or do a kill -3 PID in another console on a unix-like system where PID
is the process-id of the java-process. This prints a thread-dump of the
java-process that "hangs". This dump should help to see where the hang
actually happens.
