[jaxrs-dev] The role of the assignee field in Github

Hello Committers,

 

as recently one of the PRs assigned to me was merged by a different commiter, I would like to suggest that we agree on respecting the assignee field of Github.

 

In Github it serves for being an organizational tool which committer actively manages an issue or a PR, i. e. who drives the discussion, who checks for IP and formal issues, and who finally will do the merge. So no two committers will do the same background work etc.

 

What do you think?
