Several vendors / communities have stated they’ll support java 8+ for a number of years (2020/2021 being common years).  I can only imagine Oracle will put out a similar offering <pure speculation on my part>

Well,  when I know that will exist java LTS, I think that it will impact compatibility between Java versions. Moving on,  this is a problem for Java community.
