[iot-pmc] Are you monitoring StackOverflow for your Eclipse IoT project?

Hi,

As many of our projects are becoming more and more popular, developers are starting to ask more questions. A channel of choice for many is obviously StackOverflow.
I would highly encourage all of you who care about their early adopters (and anyone, really) having questions about your projects get answers in a timely manner, to monitor StackOverflow.
While some of you may be wandering on SO as part of their day-to-day job anyways, some of you may not go there often. In order to be notified about questions on your projects, you may want to tell StackOverflow to send you an email whenever a new question with a given tag appears, or you can use RSS feeds as well.

First option: get an email when there is activity on given tag(s)
  • Note that for this option you will need to have an account on SO (but you were planning on answering  questions anyways, right? :-))
  • Create a new filter: http://stackexchange.com/filters/new
  • Add as many rules on "questions tagged with the XXX tag on Stack Overflow" as needed. FWIW, the "iot" tag is not that popular so you may want to monitor it as well. Chances are you can "plug" your project on some of these questions, or your project will even be mentioned although not appearing in a tag.
  • Give a name to your filter
  • Ask SO to send you an email (if you picked only very specific tags, you won’t be spammed so "every 15 minutes" is probably a good option as to the frequency). There is a screenshot at the bottom of this mail to show how it should look like.
Second option: RSS feeds

Hope this helps, and that there will soon be no unsanwered Eclipse IoT-related question on SO anymore! :-)

Let me know if you have questions.
