Similarly, I think it's better to keep the Oxygen.1 release kind of private, let projects do the work of promoting their new features if they want to, but not send any big message on social media from the most visible accounts about it.

With the release of Java 9, releasing something that's not Java 9-ready is better being done quietly to prevent from bad buzz...
