Maybe we should follow different direction - instead of asking people about particular plugin settings we could provide several configuration profiles and some combo to switch between them. There would be sth like 'classic' profile (the current state) and others that enable/disable sth.

We can also consider some extra step during update/migration of Eclipse in which we can scan the plugin configurations and send the results to some server for further analysis in order to find some
common denominator. Having such results we would be able to adjust plugin configurations and populate it with the next update/migration. Obviously user has to accept such research to process it
