Re: [epp-dev] Oxygen RC4 EPP packages

Hello all

 

I believe there might be a problem in these RC4 builds:

 

When testing our (Scout) package, as soon as I imported a Java project from Git or generated it from an archetype, the dialog pops up:

“Your IDE is missing natures to properly support your projects” (JDT, WST. Screenshot attached)

Depending on the number of projects being imported, it opens many dialogs over each other (5 for our test app) .

Clicking “Show solutions” opens the marketplace, but it shows the suggested solution as “Installed”. Also, the projects compile just fine without any additional installation.

 

To exclude that it is simply our package that is broken, I checked these packages with two testprojects [1][2] - all being affected:

-          Scout, Windows x64, Mac OS

-          JEE, Windows x64, Mac OS

-          Java, Windows x64

 

Since this all worked just fine without this dialog in the RC3 version, I suspect it is a bug.

I’ll open a ticket if someone can tell me the right product/component to file this against.

  http://download.eclipse.org/technology/epp/packages/oxygen/RC4 and

  http://download.eclipse.org/staging/oxygen

As always the "RC4" reminder that those packages won't be made public tomorrow/Friday as they are the final packages to be released after quiet week if there are no respin requests. Speaking about respin requests: If there are any of them in the next week, we'll probably have to rebuild and to retest the packages.

A few days before the release I will go over all the epp.website.xml files to update the N&N locations. Feel free to help and make updates to this list or to the description that will appear on the download page via Gerrit at any time.
