| [ee4j-pmc] Approval for creation of Eclipse Documentation for Jakarta EE is needed |
Dear PMC,
as you may be aware Jakarta
EE Platform specification project since its creation,
contained Jakarta EE Tutorial repository as well as
Jakarta EE Tutorial Examples repository .
It has been discussed and agreed on within Jakarta EE Plaform call, Specification CMTE call, also at the Marketing call, that this needs to be changed, as the Tutorial and the Tutorial Examples are not specifications and do not need to follow JESP as process for its development.
As Eclipse
Examples for Jakarta EE is an existing project all we needed
to do is to move the Jakarta EE Tutorial Examples repository to
this project. This part has been done, please see
https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/jakartaee-examples/tree/main/tutorial
The license (EDL v1.0, BSD-3-Clause) of this project is adequate
already for the examples so I believe no change is being
requested or needed.
There is a need for creation of the new project that will host Jakarta EE Tutorial repository. The proposal for Eclipse Documentation for Jakarta EE has been created to do so with Eclipse Public License 2.0.
My ask for PMC is to approve creation of Eclipse Documentation for Jakarta EE so we can finalize the project creation.
