Thanks a lot for the clarification. Seems even those who either worked at Oracle or are in the JCP/EC for quite some time now don’t always know every single word by heart;-)

 

Assuming „initial“ Umbrella JSR means, for Java SE or ME that would also be JDK 1 or J2ME 1, that clause seems very worth revising or dropping. Unless EE4J did see a better Standards Body, filing an Umbrella JSR containing others will be inevitable. And even if Oracle considered joining such EG, it make no sense that the Company that lets a particular Standard go could still Veto it even by simply not voting at all.
