This is wrong. EPP packages have very decent XML and JSon editor.
The issue of delivering a good XML editor was fixed years ago by WTP, and a good JSon editor was fixed in Neon by WTP. Let's just avoid spending resources fixing problems that are already resolved.
Platform SDK is not the box you want to look at if you want to work close to end-users.
