Well if that is the case. Does anyone have any interest in creating
one? If it was up to me, I would probably just create one at Yahoo
Groups, but I imagine Eclipse could host the list just as easily.

You're not the only one. However there are no user mailing lists, so
I'm afraid you're stuck with the newsgroups.
