What do you mean by "edit window"? Are you talking about am editor? If so
which one?
Note: Such questions should be asked on the newsgroups. If you think it's a
bug the fastest way to get it fixed is filing a bug in bugzilla.

I start Eclipse, and the cursor is absent from the edit window. Any ideas
on how I can get it displayed (block/line/whatever)?
