[eclipse-dev] XML Editor

Last thing that's been on my mind while using Eclipse is the lack of
syntax highlighting, syntax (well-formedness) checking or
code-completion for XML file editing.  With so many projects and tools
where XML is used closely with Java development, some built-in support
for XML beyond plain text editing would be great.  A built-in validator
would also be cool.  Does anyone know if XML support has been discussed,
shelved on purpose (maybe leave it to other tools), or just not asked
for?
