FWIW, I checked whether the error reporter behaves incorrectly.

The bug is linked to a report of Egit 4.0.
The problem report referenced above is based on Egit 3.7.
Line numbers of the top 3 EGit classes are different and thus are not classified as being identical.
There are, however, ways how marking a problem as duplicate of another issue could be simplified. I’ll see what I can do.


I linked the report [1] with the above referenced bug. It won’t show up in the next reports.
With that, all users that run into this issue now get the info to update to the latest Egit version.
