I think that should be fine. I think the requirement is to have the release review completed by RC1. The bits can ship whenever.
For CDT, for example, the SR is our release so we ship when it ships.

Hi all,
I wanted to inform everyone that the Xtext project plans to contribute a minor release (2.7) to SR1.
The plan is to release version 2.7 on September 2nd, which is +2 for RC2 [1]. We will contribute to RC1 as well of course.
Would it be possible to contribute a 2.7.1 to RC3 in case we encounter a serious problem?
