Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Setup an EclipseCon mailing list

We do have a forum for EclipseCon, but it doesn't get used.  Part of the problem may be that we're not linking to it from the EclipseCon website, but that discussion is happening in bug:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=372854

Thanks!

Denis

Hi Eike,

Everybody uses mail. I don't know how many ppl use the forum, about 10% of our crew? Additionally, a forum is more involved than a mailing list.

Cheers,

Wim

Hi Wim,

Wouldn't a newsgroup/forum topic be nicer?

Hi,

It would be nice to have a mailing list just for the conferences. Ideally, every conference gets its own mailing list.

In this mailing list you could;

* Promote your talk.
* Read the reactions of the public.
* Ask for a squash buddy in the hotel you are staying
* Provide last minute conference information
* Share the password of the subnet for the presenters
* Share links to presentations
* etc ..

It would also make a nice archive for every conference.

Cheers,

Wim
