[cross-project-issues-dev] Heads up ... change in location of common, standard license (EULA)

Thanks to the efforts of Thanh Ha, and others [1], the "standard license" that can be used during builds [2] is now available from:

 http://download.eclipse.org/cbi/updates/license

See references below for details.

If, you happen to be "using your own copy" (as many do), there is no reason to change (though Thanh has made some improvements by indenting lists using tab characters).

But, the purpose of this note is to give notice that two previous locations will be "going away". We in the Eclipse Platform are now using this new "CBI location" and  will no longer publish the one we were. Plus, one temporary location we had for "proof of concept and testing", at .../eclipse/updates/license, will be removed. [3] The currently planned removal date is 10/21 (in about 2 weeks) but if anyone is using that temp, testing location and needs a little more time to migrate, feel free to comment in bug 418627.

If this impacts anyone in ways I have not anticipated, feel free to comment in bug 418627 as we are quite willing to be flexible ... but at same time we are trying to streamline things and not continue to do "the same 'ol thing" for the simple purpose of "just in case someone might need it", without any evidence that they do.

As an aside, on one level, this is just one "small example", but I think it is a good example of how the Eclipse Foundation is making new efforts to support all projects by assuming responsibility for some "common" things and better allowing projects to focus on the specialty of their project -- just like they (Eclipse Foundation) has  always done for their excellent hardware infrastructure and IP support.  In other words, much thanks to them and appreciation for providing this common artifact.

Thanks
