This may be a good idea but as Ed points out, getting generics right requires programming skills and domain knowledge far above average.

If it is to happen, I feel it should occur in one hit, certainly by M4 giving plenty of time for bug reporting.

I feel that there should be an announcement on this list of the development branch name/build so that early adopters may try it out before M3.
