No, ecf.core is not supposed to include httpclient (or httpclient4).  In fact, it would create a problem for us and our consumers if it did, because then install of ecf.core into Eclipse could be a problem.

Given the platform's decision to use only httpclient4...and not include the legacy httpclient provider...I'm honestly not sure what else we can do other than to make our repo available with all filetransfer impls...as we have done [1].   Apologies for the surprise, however...the platform and aggregator build surprised me/us as well.
