Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Juno RC4 (final) staging repository is complete

Hi,

The BIRT PMC have agreed that we will put this fix in the Juno SR1 release.

So we don't require the re-build now. Sorry for the inconvenience it brings.

Thanks,

Xiaoying

Hi Xiaoying,

at this point in time, requests like this can be requested for stop-ship bugs via your PMC lead/representative by the Planning Council. See [1] and [2] for the exception process for the Simultaneous Release.

Regards,
Markus

Hi David,

I'd like to request a rebuild to pick up a fix of about files in BIRT project.  We found a missing of about_files folder in the last minute checklist.

Please see bug: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=382588

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks,

Xiaoying

From this point on, any "rebuilds" will have to go through the full exception process (initiated by PMC and Planning Council rep and have the support of two other Planning Council members, with no objections (oh, and I don't vote ... otherwise I would just object to everything :)  So, it is others you need to convince, not me. [But, will try to give advice if there is any chance it would be constructive -- starting now, with this tidbit, we are at the point that while we care about quality, stability is our primary concern and its often better to ship with a known bad bug, rather than to ship what might have a worse unknown bug, introduced in a last minute respin.]

But of course a project may provide patches, etc. from their own repository sites, any time they like ... and there is always SR1 to look forward to! It will be here before you know it!

Remember, this Friday there will be no "promotion" to .../releases/juno as we normally do for milestones or RCs, since that would effectively be the same action as releasing. So, test .../releases/staging.

Good luck in your final testing .... may we all have a quiet Quiet Week.

Thanks to you all,
