How much earlier?  It only becomes obvious to us that there is a
widespread problem when we start seeing a few bugs & emails from various
people. 

But you don't need to wait for me to tell you that there's a problem --
just run a Bugzilla query which looks for new and resolved infra bugs in
the last 24 hours.    Put the "Feed" link of that search into your RSS
reader.   This is why we encourage folks to open bugs in the first place.

I understand everyone's frustration, but it's was an outage.  It wasn't
expected, it was severe, and it impacted many things.

I have everyone's phone number, a voip server and some scripting
abilities... If email doesn't work for everyone, we can communicate in
other ways  :)
