I second Konstantin's recommendation.  You can use p2.mirror as a slicer and build a smaller repo from your current repo, and make that your contribution.

See http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/viewvc.cgi/e4/releng/org.eclipse.e4.builder/builder/general/mirror-jface.xml?view=co&content-type=text/plain for an example of slicing out some bundles, it works with feature IUs and product IUs just as easily.
