I've wrestled with a conflicting sense of responsibility to contribute
to UDC and concern about spurious network traffic.
With many test workspaces the pop-up irritates me and puzzles me about
its relevance for these test workspaces.
Now I can switch it off without worry.

Ian and I have discussed this and we feel that it is time to retire the UDC.
I am concerned about making changes to the composition of the packages
at this late date in our development cycle, but would like to recommend
that we do so immediately to ensure adequate time for testing. I will
plan to archive UDC following the Indigo release.
