Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Did something happen to /releases/helios/?

I quickly checked the Helios repo and it looks ok from here too.

I have noticed that child repos sometimes fail to load (I guess that's the reality of an unreliable network like the internet).  If you get a chance, take a look at your error log and see if there is any information in there.  Usually when p2 fails to load a repo it logs it.

cheers,
ian

Hi David,

I don't know what happened, but now I am seeing things like you.
I'm so sorry for the alarm, but I tried multiple times and some other people here tried it too and we all had the same results.

Anyway, I'm just happy that everything is ok. :)

I don't know how to explain what you are seeing ... my view is below. Could you be behind some firewall that re-directs you to some "internal" version?

The composite you pasted actually points to _two_ repositories ... EPP being one of them, the other being a subdirectory of /releases/helios. Its the subdirectory that has
the meaty stuff in it

Hi David,

sorry for my mistake: it's 'Install new software'.
Here is a screenshot of my window:
helios.PNG

I also checked the compositeArtifacts and compositeContent jars, and they point to EPP:
<children size='2'>
    <child location='http://download.eclipse.org/technology/epp/packages/helios/'/>
    <child location='201006230900'/>
  </children>

Did I miss something? Am I going nuts? :D

Thanks for the attention again, David! :)

You're getting me worried, Daniel. :)
But there's a few things to consider.

"check for updates"? If you mean that literally, then I suspect it's working as designed. An "update" will only update features that are "top level" IUs. And if you have just unzipped an EPP package, then only the EPP package is a top level IU.

I've done a quick check using "install new software" and the sites look ok ... so off hand, I think what you are seeing is a quirk of "update" specifically.

Make sense?

If you think its more than that, I suggest you open a bug, with exact steps, etc., and perhaps others can give more insight than I can.

Thanks,

Hi guys,

I was trying to check for updates on
download.eclipse.org/releases/helios/, but I found the EPP packages updates instead. There's something wrong with it, right?
Also,
download.eclipse.org/releases/maintenance/ doesn't show all projects. This is odd too, isn't it? o.O
