Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Galileo M6 Status

I tried the approach 'use all project repositories' with the p2 director, but for some reason it failed. Maybe this is the same or a similar issue as in the Galileo build, maybe there are some inconsistent repos... from the error message that I got I cannot see the reason.

What I did instead: I used the new bits that have been uploaded to the Galileo download area by Rich yesterday. This worked without problems and everything could be found. I looked into the content of one of the packages and it is pretty close to what we need.

We will discuss later in our f2f meeting how to proceed... ;-)

I will try my very best, but not before Sunday. Today I am travelling and - like most of you - on a plane to EclipseCon.

Of course, it should be possible to build the packages based on the project's sites. At least theoretically. But I hope that we all realize that this wouldn't solve our real problems: Sites with  correct content and sites that are consistent. Or what happens if project A removes its interim site at some point? Or... maybe we can discuss it in our meeting on Sunday.

Just so everyone knows what I know (little as that may be),

First:

We are having trouble producing our uber-site, due to issues described in Bug 269468

The P2 team is working on it, but we we need to start thinking of backup plans as well. Such as,
Produce the "build" on another machine and upload? Produce it in "pieces"?
Not produce it at all?! Markus, I know it'd be a huge change to make in one afternoon, but long term,
do you think it feasible to build your packages based on each project's sites, instead of the one central one?

Second:

>From the sign-off sheet it appears the following projects have no M6 deliverable?
If that's accurate, its unfortunate so many projects can not join the release train. (but there's lots of good ones left :)
Be sure to ask here if there's problems you need help with (not that you'll automatically get it :) ... but, doesn't hurt to ask and many do want to help!)
and in any case, please keep us informed.
