We've been doing that each year since '06. Last year one of those
showcased AMD machines was the server. Anything you'd attempt to
download from eclipse.org would be redirected to the local mirror
inside the conference center, same with the presentations. The primary
goal was to speed up downloads and reduce bandwidth at the site, and
for eclipse.org.
However, it doesn't occur to everyone to download 4GB of presentations
and IDEs while at EclipseCon.
Perhaps we can create a one-file ZIP with everything that would be on
this USB key and link to it from the EclipseCON website?

Why not having a server locally to serve downloads and

presentation is needed, even at the last minute.
Not sure this is cheaper though. I remember that the Eclipse webmasters
had the opportunity to show case their brand new machines last year, or
maybe two years ago, so apparently it is possible to come with a server
to the conference.
What do you think ?

Hi Team,
I would like to see the presentation materials remain on the stick.
This is especially true for the tutorials. The internet service will
likely be stellar again this year, but just incase it is down,
attendees need to get at the materials quickly.
I have also made use of the stick many times to browse the presentation
materials off-line.
If the sticks a 4GB USB keys this year, there should be plenty of space.
Cheers...
