[cross-project-issues-dev] SSH attacks against our servers

Folks,
The Eclipse servers have been experiencing unusually high amounts of SSH
attack attempts. Lately, waves of distributed attacks have hit our
servers in relatively short periods. In the last 24 hours, a few dozen
distinct IP subnets were blocked by our inner firewalls as a result of
suspected attack behaviour.
Please note that our inner firewall does *not* protect project vservers
(it does protect the build.eclipse.org server, though). If your vserver
has an open port to SSH, you are responsible for your own system's
security. Should your vserver become compromised from a successful
intrusion, our only intervention will be to terminate it and provision
you with a new vserver.
