Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Europa Fall Maintenance still in progress?

EPP: Packages based on Platform 3.3.1.1 and the (old!) Europa Update Site are
already on my local hard disk and I will upload them today to the EPP
download page. Then we can decide until Monday, if we push them to the main
Eclipse download page, or not.

AFAIK, there was no clear decision on how to proceed with the Europa Update
Site. In my opinion, these two (Europa Update Site and EPP packages) should
contain the same content, which means I am updating the packages if and only
if the Europa Update Site will be updated to a Europa
Fall-Maintenance-Maintenance version. We all should keep in mind, that the
fixes in the Eclipse Platform addressed real show-stoppers, release critical
bugs, and the decision for this bug-fix release was done by the PMC.

First of all, we must decide if we change the complete Europa Update Site
content or not, then we can think about a possible schedule for new EPP
packages.

At the end of this email I would like to draw your attention to an interesting
debate in the EPP newsgroup about our policies:
http://dev.eclipse.org/newslists/news.eclipse.technology.packaging/msg00100.html
It would be very nice to get more feedback from the community in this
important discussion.
