Greetings,
Less than a week to go 'till Europa... Are we all ready?
1. Additional Bandwidth
=======================
We've just plugged in an additional 200 megabits of bandwidth, for a
total of 300 megabits. We'll be stress-testing this Monday morning, so
if you don't see any mirrors listed on our web site, don't be spooked out.
2. Uploading your Final Release files
=====================================
The Europa Final Daze document [1] explains how (and when) you should
upload your files on Thursday, June 28 (E-Day).
If you have the ability to silently upload your final release files
without them magically appearing on your download pages, feel free to
upload them before June 28. This means less to mirror on E-Day.
Otherwise, please wait for me to freeze the download server before
uploading. I'll be giving you the official "go" to upload on June 28th,
around 10:00am ET.
I'm also assuming Bjorn will run the last Europa build before Thursday,
10:00am, so that he too can have the final Europa update site ready for
then. If this is not the case, please update [1] accordingly.
3. Clean-up the garbage
=======================
If you're going to clean up your downloads area only once a year, now
would really be the time to do it :-)
4. Last-minute Communication
============================
Last year we had some last-minute communication issues with people
sleeping in Shanghai and other people on airplanes while I was cleaning
my pool.
To avoid this, if you want, please send me your IM/cellphone numbers (or
numbers of someone I can reach) and I will keep the list with me. My
cell phone number is +1-819-210-6481, and I'm agafgfafa on Yahoo IM. We
can all use me as a relay to communicate last-minute details on
Wednesday/Thursday to ensure everyone's privacy is maintained (except
mine, of course).
5. Ottawa Committer Celebrations
================================
Ottawa committers are invited to the Foundation Offices Friday, June
29th at 12:00. We'll be serving beer and pizza. You can find directions
on the web [2].
Bring your best committer/Europa horror stories, too.
