Not to worry - the Update team fixed the bug last night and I will incorporate their new build today and reinstate TPTP and Monkey into the Europa build.

I can see your point, but at the same time, the Europa update site is basically unusable without a digest - I know, I've tried it. So, effectively, due to the tools we have at hand, a description _had_ become a requirement. SiteOptimizer isn't a tool I wrote - it's a standard Platform tool and I don't have any control over it either.
Fortunately, like I said above, the Update team has fixed the bug and so the issue has become moot.
