[cross-project-issues-dev] (was EMF RC4 Ready for Callisto RC3)

Hi Kim, hi all,

I wonder if it wouldn't be worth modifying the Callisto schedule in light of these dates.  Since it seems that June 2 is the last sceduled platform RC date, I think maybe it's not such a good idea for Callisto to have an RC on that date, and then ignore that platform contribution for three weeks.  Could we delay Callisto RC5 by a week to June 9, and have it include RC7-based builds throughout?

As it's scheduled now, we have less than a week of testing for the RC5 stack built on that final scheduled platform RC.  I'd think having three weeks on it would be much better.

Cheers,
Dave

I've updated the document to include the additional platform RCs post RC4.

http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Callisto_Plan_Summary

If you are interested, there are further details regarding the platform end game builds in this message.  The important thing to note is that the expectation is that platform fixes post RC4 are related to with documentation and translation.

http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/platform-releng-dev/msg06814.html

The platform will be releasing RC5 on May 19.  The delta between platform RC4 and RC5 should only be documentation and translation fixes.  For Callisto RC3, I've indicated that the platform will contribute our RC4 since this was the initial expectation and other teams have built on it for their contributions.  If this needs to change to platform RC5, please let me know.

Kim

Confusing, isn't it.

Even though you were asking the other Dave, I'll answer.  EMF RC4 for Callisto RC3.

If there's ever any doubt or question about what's going in a particular RC of Callisto, you can refer to
http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Callisto_Plan_Summary

All teams have committed to keeping this up-to-date to reflect what's planned and what's achieved.

Thanks,

Hi Dave,

As you mentioned above, EMF RC4 is Callisto RC3. Should we use EMF RC4 or EMF RC3 to build BIRT RC3, since we use EMF RC2 to build BIRT RC2 ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

EMF RC4 (our Callisto RC3 contribution) is ready and features-emf.xml has been updated.

Cheers,
