Re: [cbi-dev] Eclipse Git vs GitHub

Hi Alex,

There is no much difference if you use the Eclipse Foundation provided Jenkins instance. See https://wiki.eclipse.org/Jenkins and https://wiki.eclipse.org/CBI#Requesting_a_JIPP_instance

The difference is how the setup will be made. Typically, you will use gerrit trigger plugin (https://plugins.jenkins.io/gerrit-trigger) to trigger builds on reviews for Eclipse git-hosted sources while you will use GitHub branch source plugin (https://plugins.jenkins.io/github-branch-source) in the other case.

In both case, the Eclipse Foundation releng team will assist in configuring the plugins as required and also provides some assistance in creating your build.

Hello,

I'm trying to understand the difference for CI procedures between Eclipse Git-hosted and GitHub-hosted sources.
Please help to find the appropriate info.

Thanks in advance,
