Re: [cbi-dev] Hudson shared instance migration: volunteers needed!

Thanks for fixing this issue.

Most of the failing tests fail since the user running Hudson doesn't have the privilege
SeCreateSymbolicLinkPrivilege which is required on Windows to create symlinks.
Could you grant this privilege to the Hudson user ?

For some reasons, the slave did not installed this library. I changed the remote work folder and it properly installed this new version. The build is now running properly.

thanks, nice that we now have a windows test build

I tweaked the build configuration and tried to run a build but this fails with the error
[ERROR] Failure: hudson.AbortException: Missing required file: c:\hb\maven\slavebundle\lib\maven3-eventspy-3.1.jar

Matthias,

I managed to successfully run the jgit-windows-test job on the new shared instance: https://hudson.eclipse.org/shared/job/jgit-windows-test/lastBuild/console

It fails because of test failure and no more because of Hudson failure.

Any JGit committer should be able to log on this new shared instance (with their email address) and configure this job. Feel free to update it.

Thank you Matthias. I will give the jgit-windows-test a try.

I will keep you posted (I hope it will fix https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=446251)

After a lot of waiting (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=412933), we now have a new upgraded version of the Hudson shared instance (https://hudson.eclipse.org/shared/). It runs on the same infrastructure as HIPPs so it will be easier for us to maintain this instance up-to-date.

No job has been migrated yet, we would like to start with some volunteer to check everything works fine before doing a massive migration. So, is there anyone who wants to migrate to this instance? Obviously, this will be non destructive and nothing from the current shared instance will be removed and/or modified until everything work properly on the new one.

Thanks for your help!

Mikael

if you already have a windows slave I would be interested to get
migrated and run it on Windows since we have no committers testing on Windows regularly
and there's no Windows slave for HIPP instances.

Otherwise for testing the setup of the new instance you could setup a copy of our jgit job
and I can check if this works properly. We don't need that job on the shared instance so
this would just to support your testing and the job can be dropped after the test.
