I find it surprising that you didn’t have to accept the Google Analytics Terms of Use already, when you created the tracking code from GTM.
I wouldn’t be afraid of reaching 10mio hits anytime soon, and I am pretty sure the Terms of Use for GTM are similar to Analytics in that they can change anytime etc.

FWIW, I wonder how you plan on looking at your Google Analytics stats if you don’t create an account? In general, I have the impression that Google Tag Manager adds lots of complexity and you might be better off with simply setting up the Google Analytics tracking code, rather than the pretty complicated GTM thingy.

hm that's the page I tried. when I sign in there, it asks me to create an account and wants me to sign these terms https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html honestly I am scared of these terms since they do not state how many costs incure if the 10mio hits would be reached. Besides that they state that they can change the terms at any time and only publish them on a website. If I do not see them but still use the service they automatically assume that I agree. At least this is what I understand from these terms.

You should not need another account and when you will log in, the code you created via GTM will most likely show up, so you will just have to make sure to grant access to it from the admin UI.

snipet into our test website. I also gave eclipsefdn viewing and changing

I just noticed that you guys are working on putting together the
eclipse.org/4diac website ­ that¹s great!
Can you please make sure to follow the little procedure at
https://wiki.eclipse.org/IoT/Community_metrics#Web_traffic to setup
Google Analytics tracking on the website and give the Eclipse Fdn access
to your stats so as we can consolidate them at the Eclipse IoT WG level.
