[news.eclipse.tools] Eclipse 2.1 on Win2K

I've just been trying Eclipse 2.1 on Windows 2000, and have observed a
couple of problems that have me stopped cold.

1. When I call up the help window, the text painting in the topic tree
seems to be mishandled in some way. Difficult to describe in words, but
it is common to see corrupted characters.

2. When I attempt to run a program, however simple and straight
forward, I get the error that the main method cannot be found. Yet it
is there. I have tried programs that worked elsewhere, programs started
from scratch in Eclipse, and programs from the examples.

Any suggestions????
