[news.eclipse.tools] Solutions for Eclipse
|
Has anyone thought about, or is considering adding, the concept of Solutions
to Eclipse. I have a situation where I am writing code for multiple target
Java VMs. And I have packages which are used in more than one target VM. It
would be nice to be able to say, that if I am wanting to export code to
target A, then build the package(s) set a, with JRE a, and if I want to
export code to target B, then build the packages(s) set b, with JRE b
etc...
I know I can control which VM to use in building packages, on a per package
basis, but this is not good enough when one has a package that needs to be
built, that is to be exported to different targets with different VMs.

Do you think the software industry will ever make software
that is as easy and reliable for a user to use
as the automobile industry makes a car easy and reliable
for a user to drive?

"However," replied the universe "I do not see where that creates in me a
