[news.eclipse.tools] Debugging servlet in Tomcat/Sysdeo?
|
Can anyone tell me how to debug a servlet (a straight servlet, not a JSP) in
an Eclipse project? I've got Eclipse 2.1 with the Tomcat 4.1.24 and Sysdeo
V2.1.
I've written the code, compiled it and executed it in Tomcat but I can't see
how to debug the code so that I can put breakpoints on it and trace exactly
what it's doing. I've tried clicking on the "Debug as >" option in the debug
menu but there is no option for "Servlet" and none of the standard options
(Java applet, Java application, JUnit, Runtime workbench) work.
I can accomplish the same results with System.out.println() but it would be
a lot faster if I could actually run debug on the code.
By the way, I'm crossposting because eclipse.tools is deprecated; normally I
wouldn't crosspost.
