[news.eclipse.tools] Re: How to upgrade
|
thanks,
when i was about to give it up it finally worked.
there is some help in docs and only when i combined your mail with help and
wiki i got it working.
in a nutshell you need .eclipseextension file in d:/anotherdir and also
feature dir there. and it still did not work and when after this i tried
Update Manager UI it worked. Update Manager UI modified .eclipseextension
file it looks that it changed version only, but maybe it did some
bookkeeping somewhere else.
Update Manager UI is still a big puzzle to me.
it could be pretty useful to put this in docs with samples, especially for
folks who update every couple of days with new build. i can provide written
description of my experience that could be edited for docs.
