Great work, Randy!  I've been using the original for a while and really
appreciate removing the sidebar (I open most perspectives in a new window).

I have one nit though with the new patch: I don't really like the "hollowed
out" (for lack of a better description) text on the selected editor tab.  Is
there any possibility of a preferences page?

This is not an official patch and does not fix any bugs.  The improvements
are aesthetic, IMHO.
